Hurdles are stepping stones - A Motivational Post

Hiking - Hurdles are stepping stones. - A Motivational Post.

Do you like hurdles? No? Okay. Think there is no fielders to block the ball, the bowler also co-operates with the batsman. All the balls will go to 4 or 6. Would you watch that cricket match? Will it be an interesting cricket match? Hence, you found what will be the most interesting thing in life? Yes! They are hurdles. They will bring out the talent in you.

In every attempt, either you are winning or learning. You have to get up and should see where you slipped off, but not where you fall down. The real strength lies in getting back, after you fell down.

Say if you break a stone in 10 hits, it doesn't mean that you failed 9 times. If you get gold in 1500 feet depth, it doesn't meat that you failed in 1499 feet digging. If you reached your destination, which is in 100th step, it doesn't mean, you failed in all 99 steps.

Situations or People, both are powerless without your reaction. It's all about how you see it, how you see yourself and how you respond. The one thing I like in Devil is, it still believes, that it can capture the entire world. The Devil didn't give up yet.

Believe in your dream - Hurdles are stepping stones. - A Motivational Post.

Don't forget, you have to be an odd to be No.1. So, don't hesitate to be an odd. People who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world are the ones who do. So, leave other's opinion about you. Your opinion about you matters a lot. What you think, you will become. At least, you be positive to you. Be true to yourself.

When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it. Coincidences, synchronicities and serendipities are all signs from the universe that you are on your true path.

How Chanting Works

Chanting

A few weeks back, I did not believe astrology like stuffs. My friend, Saravanan usually discusses about that a lot. In a curiosity, I just went to an Astrologer. He told everything about my past and present but did not discuss about my future. So, I lost my hope. I decided to consult an astrologer who thinks just like me as he is capable of answering all my questions.

Then, I remembered Mr. Shankar. I came to know him through his blog (Click Here). It was a really amazing meeting with him. He suggested me to chant. I asked him how it works. He told me that Chanting creates a vibration; when we do more, we could feel it in every cell of our body. It will remove blocks in our brain. I was really convinced.

I could understand it easily as I already watched Sadhguru's video how calling names works. When our entire body gets the vibration, the chant will start working. Read this blog to know the minimum number of count for every manthra.

Our body produces new cells and removes dead cells every day. So, we have to chant daily and regularly.

O Kadhal Kanmani

O Kadhal Kanmani

If you really love one, you can't let him/her go. Caring too much is often misunderstood as dominating and give more space is in other hand, misunderstood as carelessness. Balancing between these two, with a committed relationship, is a new concept introduced by Mani Rathnam.

Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menon live in together in the same house as paying guest where, Prakash Raj and Leela Samson were living as a traditional husband and wife.

Initally Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menon think that uncommitted live in together is suitable for them as their ambition is different also they fell in love with each other. They were staying in Prakash Raj's house as a paying guest. Prakash Raj's wife Leela has Alzheimer's disease. How Prakash Raj treats his wife in spite of the Alzheimer's disease, made changes in Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menon's decision to live in together. They found that they love each other most.

OK Bangaram

Nithya got admission in a college in Paris on the other hand Dulquer had to go to United States in deputation. Both of them, did not wish to lose their carrier. So, Dulquer finally told that, none of them lose their carrier, but they should marry and when she finishes her studies, he will join with her.

Dulquer went to United States and Nithya went to Paris, as he told, on her convocation, he was there. After that they lived together (again). They got two children. Thus the story ends.

I feel its a perfect balance between taking care and giving space. When people avoid the marriage as it has commitment and domination, they started a new trend called "Live in together". However, it is not a solution. Mani Rathnam gave a perfect solution for this generation.

Jo and the Boy

Jo and the Boy

Who doesn't have dream? We all have a childhood dream. However, some of us just give it up, some of us don't even chase it.

This movie is all about a girl who achieved her childhood dream.

As usual, when she reveals her dream in her class, every one laughed first time (It happens, when a child says his/her ambition is other than Doctor or Engineer). The next day, she re-present her dream in the way everyone wow...

Creating an interactive cartoon character is Jo's dream. She is a sanguine personality. She handles all the huddles with a smile and sees a positive in it.

Jo and the Boy

Though Jo was focusing on her ambition, she did not fail to look around her. She got a charming boy as her cartoon character.

Though their first meeting was not sweet, the boy touch her (even our) heart by expressing his dream as Jo express her dream in her school days.

The boy's dream is to around the world. Jo and the boy helps each other to achieve their dreams. Finally, they both around the world.

Jo and the Boy

All of the obstacles they faced were caused by someone else. Their amazing parents really supported them to achieve.

Screenplay, Location, Sceneries, Facial Expressions etc., everything was awesome. If you have a dream, you must watch this movie at leas once in a life.

Yoga

Pathanjali

Let us bow before the noblest of sages Patanjali, who gave yoga for serenity and sanctity of mind, grammar for clarity and purity of speech and medicine for perfection of health. Let us prostrate before Patanjali, an incarnation of Adisesa, whose upper body has a human form, whose arms hold a conch and a disc, and who is crowned by a thousand-headed cobra.

In contemporary words, Sadhguru says "Yoga is a tool to find ultimate expression to life. Every human being must explore and know this."

Practicing yoga helps to

  • Enhance focus, memory and productivity. Stabilize body, mind and emotions.
  • Relieve chronic ailments and improve health.
  • Strengthen and stabilize the spine Relieve back pain, stress and anxiety.
  • Relieve chronic ailments and improve health.
  • Enhance teamwork and communication.
  • Impart a lasting sense of joy, peace and fulfillment.

In my opinion, every creature in this world has some reason. Especially Human creature should achieve something in their life. All those achievements can be done through this body (Brain is also included in the Body). You have to be fit until you die. Yoga helps you to achieve, something higher than what you can do without yoga.

Jordan Carver Doing Yoga

There are many celebrities doing yoga. They feel yoga makes them young, beauty, fit, slim and peaceful.

"Yoga is a metaphor for life. You have to take it really slowly. You can't rush... It is a workout for your mind, your body and your soul."
- Madonna

"I walked away feeling fuller .... full of hope, a sense of contentment, and deep joy."
- Oprah Winfrey

"It don't just make us happier and healthier, they're a proven competitive advantage for any business that wants one."
- Arianna Huffington

Why should you be optimistic?

Why should you be optimistic?

There are many medical, psychological and scientific benefits for optimists. It makes you healthier, to live longer, to be cool, to get more job offers, promotions etc..,. Optimistic people are loved by almost everyone.

Our thinking pattern changes over the years. But if you hold the positive thoughts, you can have the bright future. If you desire one thing, the entire universe makes a plan to get it to you.

You can read many things about having positive thoughts, however, this post is little different from them. I am going to explain how it works scientifically.

Before we enter into that, I request you to try this.

  • Sit comfortably
  • Close your eyes
  • Spread your hands with palms open
  • Try to join both the palms very slowly

Fine! At the end, you will find some obstacles between two palms. I will explain you why.

Actually we have many bodies. Among them, only one body is visible to the eyes. But other bodies work, invisibly. They are called as "Sukshuma Shareeram". When your visible body (Bhutha / Sthula Shareeram) is fueled by foods, the sukshuma shareerams are fueled by karma. They are fueled by your thoughts and actions.

If you have positive thoughts and positive actions, they will be healthy. As your visible body does the tangible things, your invisible body does intangible things.

All those invisible bodies are connected with each other, unlike our visible body is connected through the internet. Thus, the right thing comes to you as you expect. If some of your expectations fail, perhaps, you did not communicate properly through your invisible body.

When your visible body is cleaned by the water, your invisible body is cleaned by fire. So, if there is camp fire or yagnya, your invisible body will be cleaned, if you are just near to the fire.

So, be optimistic. It doesn't mean that you should not be careful.

When optimism opens the door, the pessimism shows the safest way. Like two sides of a coin, optimism and pessimism should be there for a peaceful life. But, you have to keep the perfect balance between them.

Maha Prajna & Maha Karuna

One day, a young boy came into the monastery and asked the Chief Monk, to give him some work and also food. The Chief Monk asked him: What have you read? What work can you do? What do you know?

The boy replied: I have not read in school. I have no proficiency in any work excepting some stray jobs like washing food plates, cleaning up the cottage etc., I do not know anything else.

Maha Prajna & Maha Karuna

The Chief Monk asked: Are you sure you do not know anything else?

The young boy replied: Oh, yes, Sir, now I remember. I can play good Chess.

The Chief Monk said: Oh that is good. Now I shall test you in your game.

He asked another monk to come with chess board and coins and asked a table to be placed so that the game could start.

Before start of the game, the Chief Monk said: Now see, I have a sword on my hand. If any one of you is defeated, his nose will be severed.

The boy became nervous. However, without any other way to go, he agreed.

The game started. Initially, the boy made some mistakes in moves. His position on the board became almost hopeless. He then concentrated completely on the game and improved the position to a winning level. Then he looked at the monk sitting opposite and playing. He was not quite nervous but obviously disturbed a little. The boy then thought, "I am a useless fellow in life. Nothing will change the world if I lose the game and lose my nose. But this monk, is well read person, doing meditation and is sure to attain Buddhahood. Why should he lose? So the young boy deliberately made a wrong move, so that the monk sitting opposite could take advantage and win the game!

The Chief Monk suddenly flashed his sword on the table. All the coins flew into different directions.
He then said: The game is over. Oh boy you are IN. You will be with us in the monastery hereafter.
The boy did not understand.

The Chief Monk explained: "I did not ask you to play chess to find out your caliber in the game. But I was looking for two essential qualities that are necessary for Self realization. One is Maha Prajna. The Great Awareness..I found that in you. When your game became positionally bad, you put your entire concentration and attention on the game and improved your game. This is Maha Prajna. The second is Maha Karuna - The Great Compassion. I found that also in you. When your opponent was about to lose the game, you looked at him with great compassion and deliberately made a wrong mistake so that he could win.
These two qualities are adequate to do sadhana. You are IN.

Six Light Years - A Voyage for True Love

He was there where all the cameras twinkling to capture him as he won the best programmer award. But his eyes were searching someone. One of his old friends said met him after the function.

Friend: Hey! Congrats. For both the things.
He: Both?
Friend: Searching someone.....
He: Ya.... She is following me for the past couple of weeks. Wherever I go, she is there. She is traveling a lot for me. ha ha ha ... One day, I just drove fast. She did not give up. I wonder, how can she be that fast as a professional racer!
Friend: Really? How fast she is? 120 kms? 180kms? You know one thing? She traveled a lot for you than you know. Yes! 6 years at the speed of light. She named herself as Anu to live in earth.
He: Wow!! Really? Today, I am going to give her a surprise.

When he is going by car, as usual Anu followed her. At one point, he parked his car, came to her and said, “Anu, Could you please give me lift?”
Anu: Please get in. (After he got in, she asked) Where do you want to go?
He: Let’s have a cup of coffee!!

She embraced.

In the coffee shop...

He: I think you write Sci Fis. Could you tell me one of your Sci Fis?
She: Ya.
She narrated the story. After she finished, he said, “Wow!! Interesting story. A girl loved a boy in another planet. She came to that planet to marry him.” He continued.. “But there is no romantic ending in your story. Shall I add something in your story?”
She: Of course. Yes!
He: They went to a coffee shop. Both fell in love. Both got married too.

An Old Sci-Fi Writer

I like Sci-Fi. My Scifi life started with "Honey I Shrunk The Kids" in Set Max & grown up by Writer Sujatha. I like Santhosh Narayanan's sci-fis which has the standard that of Sujatha's.

Now, I can not think like so called "Normal Persons". Thinking out of the box became "my" normal. No matter some of the people around me, label me as an alien. I think this is a boon.

I should thank Vijay anna. When every one thought that my (scientific) thoughts are useless, He was the one who encouraged me and let me learn science more.

I should also thank Saravanan Tamilselvan and Raja Ramani for participating with me in scientific discussions.

Amazing Parents!!

What if the parents let their children to choose their own career? What if the parents let the children to keep their own discipline? After a long time, I saw such a parents. Yes!! I thought only my parents are good enough like that. (I happened to know Kamal Hassan also like that.)

In the past few years, I found all the parents (except my parents) force their children to chase parent's dream, but not their own dream. They "shape" children's career by cutting all their branches of creativity and make them well "disciplined" by autocracy. But yesterday was the day I found a parents who are really good enough like my parents. They give full freedom to their daughters. (I am not saying this as they gave Idlies and Organic Mango Juice. )

Amazing Parents!!

I was with them 80 minutes (20:23 to 22:03). Discussed about the camp we recently attended, some jokes, Idlies, ect.,

They knew about this Macaulay's Education System, earning is just part of life, consequences of forcing children, ect., in short, they knew all those things parents must know.

Gopika's parents gave me yet another positive point that I can re-establish Ancient Indian Education System

Where Are They?

Every year, I hear a story that this boy is State First, This girl is State First. Every year. But, one thing I really wonder about, where are they now, who was state first, five years ago? All those State First are valid for just one year? After few years, there will be no much difference between who won state first and those who did not.

Schools and colleges are advertising with those who won school first or cent per cent. Colleges and schools propagate about themselves that they got cent per cent result. Over the years.

I am bored of hearing such things every year. Hearing this for the past 17 years. Among those 51 State Firsts (the most intelligent people in this milky way), not even one scientist was not there, at least one entrepreneur was not there. No such news about them, apart from that they were state first in their academics. After 2 days of result announcing, they are also one among those who did not get state first or a couple of mark less than them.

Anyways they are also going to work for the people, who are much lower in the Intelligence Quotient (all the Customer Care Agency says in the training, that 35 year old American has the Intelligence Quotient of 10 year old Indian)

How many Chief Executives of an International Companies were studied in India and got State First? How many entrepreneurs we got out of those who got state first? All we got people work for Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberk & for (late) Steve Jobs (who are not even a graduate)

Finally answer this one question. What did they achieve by being No.1 in SSLC and HSLC? Where are they now? Why not Schools and Colleges are not producing the scientists instead of just state rank holders? Why don't parents want their children to be a scientists or entrepreneur instead of just employed?

Books!! They changed my life!!

You all know, 1st April, 2015 was 10th anniversary of my reading life. Now, I am sharing the names of books, they changed my life. Books save us from people who reshape us as they want, but not as we really wish. i.e It makes us to be ourselves.

  • Who moved my Cheese
  • A must read book. It explains the necessity of keeping yourself update according to present scenario
  • One minute Manager
  • You will get the management skill that you can not get even in Masters in Business Administration

Chetan Bhagat (is in Time magazine's list of World's 100 Most Influential People 2010) has vital part in my life. All of his books, changes the youth, pillars of India, so as me. I should thank him for transforming my mind through his books. I read all of them.

Enough I think! Here it covers all (your academics, career, love, parents, country) I hope you too join with me Making India Awesome

Changing Education System?

I don't mean to write negatively about the organization which conducted the camp. However, I am just pointing out the areas to be improved.

I remember a quote of Einstein “Problems cannot be solved with the same mind set that created them.”

People who are struggling to get back the ancient Indian culture are the people those who lost it and adopted western culture over the year. They try to bring back the ancient Indian education system, but their system (beyond some levels) similar to Macaulay Education System.

I did not expect this from "that" organization.

10 Years back they taught me that ancient Indian education method was good to develop knowledge. From that day onward, I worked on myself to practice to learn and to think like an ancient Indian student. (The thing is, I was half the way while I was taught)

But, now, they are teaching how to teach in ancient Indian method, through Macaulay method.

All their activities were become just a rituals, rather than following them with conscious, so as Hinduism.

At the last minute of the camp, when I am out of the gate, I proved that I am a product of Bharath, but they are the product of India.

Gmail Aliases - Quite old, but worth sharing.

Filter your messages with email aliases

By adding a “+” and any combination of letters or numbers after your username, you can create alternate email addresses that will all be delivered to your account. Sometimes it’s handy to have these aliases when you sign up with your email address for different services. For example, if your email address is hikingfan@gmail.com and you sign up for lots of newsletters, you can sign up with the email address hikingfan+newsletters@gmail.com instead of hikingfan@gmail.com. You’ll still receive those emails in your inbox, but If you ever want to filter all the newsletters you’ve received, you can filter by messages sent to hikingfan+newsletter@gmail.com.

Using an address alias

Gmail doesn't offer traditional aliases, but you can receive messages sent to your.username+any.alias@gmail.com. For example, messages sent to jane.doe+notes@gmail.com are delivered to jane.doe@gmail.com. You can set up filters to automatically direct these messages to Trash, apply a label or star, skip the inbox, or forward to another email account.
